KRA email address is a key requirement in registration and maintaining your iTax account. However, you may find yourself in the unfortunate situation of either having a compromised account, forgot your  KRA email or just want to switch to another convenient one. So how do you go about this?

Using call center to change your KRA email

If you find the online email change procedure to involving and tasking, you can opt for a more traditional route. The simplest option is sending a scanned copy of your ID, KRA pin, and a valid email address (presumed to be the new one you wish to be captured) to callcenter@kra.go.ke. However less demanding this might be, it may not be expeditious as the next procedure we explain here.

How to Change my KRA email online

  • Go to kra  iTax portal by following this link
  • Log in by keying in your KRA pin number and password.
  • Then answer the security question before continuing.
  • Verify your email after a successful login (You can access other services on iTax after this process)
  • A one-time password (OTP) password which expires after 15 minutes will be sent to your original email address.
  • Key password sent to your email on the empty  window and click “submit”

The next step involves amending your KRA PIN details.

  • Go to the menu
  • Click on “Amend PIN Details” on the registration. This allows for the re-amendment of the registration form to be displayed. These include Applicant Type, Name and PIN which are automatically filled in by the system
  • Select the online form.
  • After its opening, checkmark on the “PIN” field to see all the sections available for editing.
  • Check on the basic information part.
  • Scroll downwards and select Principal Contact details.
  • Enter your new KRA email address.
  • Scroll downwards and click on the submit.
  • You will be notified  via a prompt of  changing and  entering a  new  KRA pin email as the main email address on iTax
  • Confirm the process by tapping the OK button.

Lastly, you will receive a confirmatory message documenting the amendment of your email address.

The final step is waiting for ratification of the change by a KRA representative.

A confirmatory email will be sent to you which allow you to download your PIN certificate with the new email address.
